Summer evenings at Soul Farm are often warm and clear with a wide expanse of stars overhead. We will be taking full advantage with one of my favorite things…a sound meditation under the moon and stars!
Jenny Bergold, a sound healing practitioner, will be leading the meditation Saturday night. As we relax on our mats, listening to the sounds of the night under the stars, Jenny will play three gongs tuned to Uranus, Jupiter and the Moon. Add in crystal and Tibetan bowls and it will be magical!
A magic moment occurs as you exit I-88 from Chicago and merge onto Rt. 30. Subdivisions and mammoth office buildings give way to cornfields, barns and long rows of wood fencing. It’s like leaving Oz and entering Munchkinland. And so begins a retreat at Soul Farm.
As you exit our gravel road and meet at our little cottage, you’ll be greeted with snacks and friendly Soul Sisters, also looking for a bit of peace from a hectic world. This retreat includes opportunities for a massage in our old corn crib or one on one time with our horses, Equine-assisted Reiki, forest meditations in our private woods, and other activities.*
A two night stay includes a full dinner Friday night, a full brunch Saturday morning, afternoon snacks and a full dinner Saturday night. The retreat completes with brunch on Sunday. Light snacks are served in the early mornings before yoga, along with coffee and tea.
Our bathhouse has two airy, clean flushing toilet rooms with running water sinks (hot and cold, of course!) as well as two spacious, private, but open to the fresh air showers with plenty of hot water. It’s clean, fresh and invigorating.
Our bunkhouse or tent beds are comfortable, with real linens, and the sounds of crickets, frogs and woodland birds will lull you to sleep. Rustic and outdoorsy, but with the touches that make your retreat an inspiring and relaxing experience. Remember, if it’s important to book with a friend, book together!
*Massages, and equine assisted reiki are available at an additional fee.
